Texarkana, Texas, residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers, including one-on-one assistance, during an upcoming Community Water Forum. The forum will focus on water services, billing concerns, and long-term infrastructure improvements.

The City of Texarkana, Texarkana Water Utilities (TWU), and Riverbend Water Resources will host the open-house style event, titled “Let’s Talk Water,” on Monday, January 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Texarkana, Texas Convention Center. There will be no formal presentation, allowing residents to come and go at any point during the two-hour window.

What Residents Can Expect

The forum is designed to provide direct access to City officials, TWU staff, and Riverbend representatives. You can ask questions, receive individualized assistance, and learn more about current and upcoming water-related projects impacting the community.

Topics to Be Discussed

Several key topics will be covered throughout the evening, including the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Program, which explains how newly installed meters improve billing accuracy, reduce water loss, and give customers better access to their usage data.

Residents can also learn more about Texarkana Water Utilities system improvements, upcoming water and sewer projects, and the ongoing Water Service Line Inventory, which involves identifying materials used in customer service lines across the utility’s distribution system.

Help Desk and Regional Water Plans

TWU Customer Service representatives will be available at a Help Desk to provide individualized account assistance and address billing or service-related questions. Riverbend staff will also share information about the Riverbend Regional Water Infrastructure Program, outlining the long-term benefits of the regional water treatment project.

Residents with questions about water bills, recent meter upgrades, or future water infrastructure investments are encouraged to attend.
