Daylight Savings Time: Is This The Last ‘Spring Forward’ in Arkansas?
It's that time of year again that some people love and others hate. The time change. We go to Daylight Savings Time this weekend.
There was a big push a few years ago in Texas and Arkansas to remain in Daylight Savings Time. A lot of states passed bills that could keep them in DST. Did it work? Nope, there is a little federal law that says states can not stay in DST. States can only opt out of it. Yeah, all that political hoop-la for nothing.
President Trump has stated he'd like to get rid of Daylight Savings Time across the nation. He won't be able to do that this year but the next? Maybe.

So, in the meantime, we wait and continue the time changes twice a year, and I'm okay with that. I personally love Daylight Savings Time. It's an emotional thing for me and maybe for others as well. The time change in the Spring brings back childhood memories for me and the excitement that days are longer for more play time and knowing that Summer is on its way.
This weekend remember to set your clock ahead one hour before you go to sleep Saturday night. Remember the saying 'Spring Forward and Fall Back'. My fingers are crossed that this won't be the last time we say 'Spring Forward'.
