The singer made headlines in May for another sad occasion involving his Florida hometown, when he honored the memory of two Trenton police officers who were killed in April. He sang the National Anthem in the officers' honor at an opening ceremony for Trenton's Relay for Life of the Tri-Counties on May 4. At the time, the singer was also presented with a special hometown sign from the mayor's office that reads: "Welcome to Trenton, Home of Nashville Recording Artist Easton Corbin."
Corbin is in the middle of a career shift, having announced in February that he was leaving his longtime label home, Mercury Nashville.
