Easton Corbin is in the midst of a career shift. The singer is no longer with Mercury Nashville, his label home since 2009, Sounds Like Nashville confirms.

Corbin's tenure with the label included two back-to-back No. 1 hits — his debut single "A Little More Country Than That" and follow-up "Roll With It." Multiple of his other singles have landed in the Top 10 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart, and all three of his albums cracked the Top 5 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.

Though Corbin's current single, "A Girl Like You," receives consistent airplay on country radio and sits inside the Top 10 on the Country Airplay chart, only one of his other singles released in the past three years managed to make it to the Top 5, and the other three didn't break the Top 30. Interestingly, "Are You With Me," a deep cut off 2015's About to Get Real, topped the pop charts in several European countries including Austria, Belgium, France and Germany after Belgian DJ Lost Frequencies turned it into dance track that was a hit with the UK audience.

In spring 2017, Corbin reported that he was back in the studio working on a new album following a stint as an opening act on Carrie Underwood's Storyteller Tour in 2016. He has a fan in Underwood, who shared her thanks after he gifted her a beautiful portrait of Dolly Parton at the end of the tour. "It really has been a pleasure getting to work with you. You and your crew are so hard-working and sweet. Keep on being awesome, no matter where the road takes you next," she said of Corbin in a 2016 Twitter post.

No word on what will become of the project Corbin was working on.
