Did you know that Bentonville, Arkansas is home to the U.S. Mountain Bike National Team? Some of the National Team members are racing in the 2024 Paris Olympics, how cool is that?
According to the director of communications and public relations for USA Cycling Angeline Palermo, “The international mountain bike race courses are getting harder and harder. That’s why skills camps in Bentonville and Bella Vista areas are crucial in helping athletes learn the necessary technical skills that are needed to compete at a high level.
With over 400 miles of trail systems to explore in Northwest Arkansas cyclists ride over hills, bluffs, scenic views, and rugged terrain. Making the time to ride the Monument Trails collection of world-class trails can be challenging but it is well worth the time and effort if you want to ride like an Olympian.
Arkansas is also the home to five International Mountain Bicycling Association EPIC rides giving the rider a true back-country experience. The ride is not only technically challenging but physical too with at least 20 miles in length on a single track.
Some of the best mountain bike trails are found in the upper Buffalo, Lake Ouachita Vista Trail, Ouachita National Recreation Trail, Syllamo, and Womble trails.
