This must be the week for breaking news when it comes to new restaurants heading to Texarkana. Now, we have learned that Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers is planning a T-Town invasion soon.

TXKToday is reporting that documents have been filed with the State of Texas to open a new location of the Kansas-based burger chain somewhere along Mall Drive near Texas Roadhouse, according to the report. Our best guess at this point, would be in the currently wooded area between Newk's and the new Bubba's 33. That would be Mall Drive between  S. Cowhorn Creek Loop and Summer Ridge, the road that runs behind Bubba's 33 and Texas Roadhouse. That's just speculation on our part though, we have no actual evidence to back that up just yet.

If you're like me and get to travel around Arkansas every now and again, chances are you have tried the one in Hot Springs on Central Ave. It's been a while, but as I recall, the burger was pretty good, and the custard was fantastic.

According to the report, the construction on this over $3 million project should begin in March and, as weather allows, should be finished in time for a late Texarkana summer debut.

Freddy's features the Prime Rib Steakburger, a Grilled Cheese Steakburger, The Original Double and Patty Melt Combos, Crispy Chicken Sandwich, All-Beef Hotdogs, Chicken Fingers, their famous Frozen Custard, and more.
