It's hard to believe that it's already June, even better is the fact that this Saturday, June 6 is Free Fishing Day in the state of Texas.

Every year the first Saturday in June is designated as Free Fishing Day for Texans at any public water body without having to pay for a fishing license. According to Fishgame.com:Craig Bonds, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department inland fisheries director said:

"We hope those trying fishing on this special day will also learn that purchasing a license is an act of conservation. A fishing license purchase is one of the simplest and most effective way people can support fisheries science and management.”

In the Texarkana area, you can go fishing for free this Saturday at Wright Patman Lake, Spring Lake Park, Grady T. Wallace Park and Bringle Lake.

You can check out a list of other community fishing lakes all across the entire state of Texas here.
