Eighth Annual Hot Springs Fishing Challenge Could Mean Free Money
If you love to fish then you need to head to Hot Springs, Arkansas. What began back on May 1, continues now through the end of the month for the eighth annual Hot Springs Fishing Challenge on Lake Hamilton and Lake Catherine.
It's one of the biggest events of the year. Thanks to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Visit Hot Springs, and Andrew Hulsey Fish Hatchery approximately 71 fish have been tagged and released into the lakes at undisclosed locations Anyone who catches one of the tagged fish now until 5PM, July 31, wins a cash prize.
Big Al is the biggest fish and is a Bluegill hiding somewhere on Lake Hamilton worth $15,000. In addition there are 4 fish worth $5,000, 46 worth $1,000 and 20 fish worth $500.
Other money fish released are largemouth bass, channel fish, white bass, bluegill, crappie and walleye. If you catch one of the tagged fish a phone number and prize number will be attached, call the number and present the fish. All fish tags must be attached to claim your cash prize.
Anyone with a valid Arkansas fishing license can participate in the challege.
