Remember a while back when we kept hearing explosions coming from the former Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant? Well, guess what? It's happening again.

The Army is conducting Environmental clean-up activities through the use of remediation contractors at the former ammunition plant high explosive demolition grounds.

These explosions will begin next week and will continue for several months. There could very well be multiple detonations on the same day when they are needed. These detonations will begin no earlier than 9 AM and will conclude no later than 4:30 PM on the days they occur.

The remediation contractors will be following all required federal rules and regulations in conducting these activities and depending on weather conditions, loud noise and vibrations will be felt and heard by our local surrounding communities. They understand the concerns of the community and will endeavor to mitigate the impacts as they complete these explosive activities.
