Giraffe Inn and Safari in New Boston Damaged in Storm
One of the area's newest attractions, The Giraffe Inn and Safari in New Boston, Texas, was damaged in a severe storm when high straight-line tornadic winds swept through the Ark-La-Tex early Monday morning.
Cleaning Up The Damage
Giraffe Inn and Safari owner, Tiffany Dierolf told KSLA, they've been preparing the family-friendly park for its second year of operation.

The Giraffe Inn allows visitors to stay on the property while enjoying all the animals feeding the giraffes from one of their tastefully decorated barn suites. In addition to the safari drive-thru, they have a unique petting zoo with various animals and baby animals.
According to their Facebook page, two baby piglets were injured, one died while the other is being nursed back to health by safari crew members.
The good news is that the other animals are all okay and none of the Giraffe Inn and Safari crew and staff were not injured.
However, some metal buildings and pens on the property were ripped to shreds and it will take time to clean up all the debris and mess caused by the storm. Dierfol feels blessed because the storm could have easily wiped out the whole property.
Latest Update On The Giraffe Inn and Safari (March 6)
"Petting Zoo and Safari day passes are temporarily closed but Giraffe Barn reservations for the weekend are still good," said Tiffany Dierolf
I visited the Giraffe Inn and Safari last spring and immensely enjoyed everything from the inn to the petting zoo and seeing all the wild animals in their natural habitat. This is a great place for families to stay or visit and it's good for the New Boston community and the four-state area.
You can help maintain the care needed for the animals by going to their GoFundMe page. For further updates, please visit their Facebook page.
