Harvest Texarkana ‘Drive Out Hunger’ Golf Tournament May 16
The Harvest Texarkana 'Drive Out Hunger' golf tournament will be on May 16 at Northridge Country Club in Texarkana Texas.
This tournament has two separate flights. The morning flight has a 7:30 AM check-in with an 8 AM shotgun start and the afternoon flight has an 11:30 AM check-in and a 1 PM shotgun start. Lunch will be served from 11:30 Am until 1 PM.
All registered golfers have a chance to win the long drive, closest to the hole and of course, all golfers will be entered into the great raffles. This is, of course, a four-man scramble format so all golfers regardless of skill level get to compete for the win.
All of the proceeds from this event support hunger relief programs at Harvest Regional Food Bank. The food bank serves more than 75 agencies in 9 counties in southwest Arkansas as well as Bowie County, Texas. In 2020 and 2021, Harvest distributed nearly 10 million pounds of food to our neighbors in need. They provide food through food banking, mobile pantries, senior boxes, and childhood hunger programs to over 45 campuses.
Recent USDA reports indicate that at least 1 in 5 of those living in our region is hungry, and one-quarter of all children live in homes that are food insecure. Arkansas and Texas are still identified as the two states with the highest rates of child hunger.
If you want to help and sponsor this event or if you are a golfer wanting to register the deadline is April 30. All of the information you need can be found on the Harvest Regional Food Bank website.
