As two historic buildings in downtown Texarkana are revitalized, there is one historic building where plans for demolition is going forward.

The Regency House located 105 E. Broad Street in Downtown Texarkana, Texas. This was originally the Dillard's Store in Texarkana. The roof caved in last summer and has been slated to be torn down for a while now.

By the look of the photo above, there's not a lot of building left. I hated to see this building's roof cave-in last year. This poor building was not maintained over the years by the owner and another part of Texarkana history will be gone because of it.

According to the ArkLaTex Homepage, the city of Texarkana, Arkansas has tried numerous times to contact the owner of the building but has received no response.

The project will cost the city about $500,000 and the city plans to take the owner to court to be reimbursed for the cost.

The demolition of the building should take about three and a half weeks to finish.
