Hospice of Texarkana ‘Good Grief Day’ Set for June 24
Hospice of Texarkana will be celebrating 22 years with "Good Grief Day" for children on Friday, June 24, from 10 am to 2 pm at the Landmark Event Center, 1601 Mall Drive.
This four-hour FREE event is open to any youth 7-15 years old in Northeast Texas or Southwest Arkansas who has lost a loved one due to death, divorce, a parent serving the military, a parent being incarcerated, or moving to a new school.
There are various fun creative activities that help teach youth to express grief in a healthy way. One of the ways they can cope with their grief is by doing a balloon release at the event. There will be creative craft sessions and group projects all facilitated by Licensed Medical Social Workers and staff members to help children understand the many feelings of grief they experience.
