Normally, the month of October means the return of one of Hospice's biggest fundraisers of the year, Jeans & Bling. However, due to the coronavirus, this is not your normal typical year, the 2020 Jeans & Bling has been rescheduled for Oct. 2, 2021.

In a statement on their Facebook page here's what they had to say about this year.

"We have been closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and after much consideration and concern for the health and safety of our community, we have made the decision to cancel our Jeans & Bling for 2020."

Last year Hospice of Texarkana cleared a profit of $61,000. All of this designated to help pay down the Hospice Care Center which is a 12-bed facility that helped more than 300 very sick hospice patients last year.

The event featured a barbeque dinner, silent auction, a lip-sync competition in which our company was involved in, and the Austin Based Texas Unlimited Band who performed live for the attendees.

So, with no Jeans & Bling this year, I thought it would be fun to look back at last year's Lip-Sync Competition.

Lip Sync competitors included John Ross, his wife Lisa Shoalmire, and their daughters. They were also the group that raised the most money for Hospice of Texarkana.

The group who won a trophy for the Most Audience Involvement was the deejays from Townsquare Media. They performed as the "Not so Fab 4" with a special appearance from Elvis or should I say, Marvis.
