Arkansas State Police Seize 7,000 Fentanyl Pills at I-40 Traffic Stop
The war on dangerous drugs continues in Arkansas as state police find thousands of fentanyl pills and more while conducting a traffic stop on I-40.
It all took place last week on Wednesday, July 31 when Arkansas State Police conducted a traffic stop around 2 in the afternoon. The officers stopped a 2024 White Nissan Altima near the 3-mile marker on Interstate 40 in the eastbound lane near Van Buren.
According to an ASP press release, state police officers decided to conduct a search of the vehicle. That is when the troopers discovered approximately 7,000 pills of Fentanyl,18 pints of promethazine/codeine syrup and illegal marijuana.
The Arkansas State Police took both the driver and the passenger into custody. The two people who were arrested told the investigators that they were traveling from Riverside, California to Memphis, Tennessee.
Fortunately, they did not make it to their delivery destination.
