Between all the snow and random weather we've gotten here in Texas as of late, the last thing we need is something else that could potentially go wrong.

Unfortunately, we now have that thing, and it's something that could affect many Texas residents.

As we're all looking for ways to save money, especially with the rising cost of groceries, many of us have turned to purchasing store brand items when we shop.

Walmart is known to have some of the lowest food prices around, and you can affordably shop if you purchase the Walmart branded Great Value items.

However, if you've purchased Great Value chicken broth recently, you need to check it before using it. That's because there has been a recall on it, and one of the states it was recalled in is Texas.

More than 2,000 cases of it have been recalled due to a packaging issue. This could lead to product spoilage, and that's something that could make you pretty ill.

Not all Great Value chicken broth has been affected, but if you recently purchased the family sized, 48-ounce cartons of it, here's what you need to check for.

Best used by: March 25, 2026
Batch/lot code: 98F09234
Retail Unit UPC: 007874206684
Case UPC: 078742066844

If your chicken broth shows any of those things on the package, you need to discard it immediately and not use it. You can also request a refund via Walmart.

The recall affected 242 stores throughout nine states, so it's possible your store wasn't affected by it, but hey, better safe than sorry.
