Its official Paul Norton is going to be the new Superintendent for the Texarkana, Texas Independent School District. Norton was chosen as the Lone Finalist by the Board of Trustees for the district yesterday.

He has been principal at Texas High since 2003. He will replace James Henry Russell who is leaving to become the President of Texarkana College later this month.

The Tony Alamo Civil Lawsuit has ended in a Texarkana Arkansas Courtroom.  A jury deliberated for several hours yesterday and awarded a total of $33 million dollars a piece to two men who filed suit saying they were subjected to beatings by a member of Alamo's Ministry at the command of Alamo himself.

In sports:

The Dallas Mavericks came from behind to beat the Miami Heat in Miami last night. The Mavericks went  on a 22-5 run in the final 6:30 minutes of the game to beat the Heat 95-93 and tie the best of seven NBA Finals at a game a piece.  The series now shifts to Dallas for games three, four, and five .

The Pleasant Grove Hawks have their backs against the wall in there Best of Three Regional Final after losing game one to Argyle last night by a score of 7-6.  Game two is tommorrow afternoon at Paris North Lamar, if the Hawks win that game and third and deciding contest will be played 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first game.  The winner of the series will  head to Austin to play in the state finals next week
