Good Tuesday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for portions of the listening area until 7pm. Thunderstorms are possible particularly in the northern and eastern portions of the Four States Area. One thing that is a certainty across the entire area is the extreme heat with temperatures expected to top out at near 100 degrees and heat index values as high as 105 .

The Texarkana Texas Independent School District Board of Trustees meets tonight at 6pm at the District Services Building Located in the 1600 block of Waterall Street. The board is expected to approve the contract for the new Superintendent Paul Norton. Norton is taking over for James Henry Russell who just recently left the district to become President of Texarkana College.

Also at tonights meeting the board expected to formally name Brad Bailey as the new principal at Texas High School.

The Texas Legistlature is taking up the final items in the special session. Both the House and Senate conducting final votes on bills that will maintain school funding and revamp a hurrican insurance program. Governor Rick Perry can call another special session if lawmakers can not complete all the work on time.
