Jeans & Bling Event Raises $61,000 for Hospice of Texarkana
Hospice of Texarkana is thrilled to announce that the recent “Jeans & Bling” annual fundraiser cleared a profit of $61,000. All of this is designated to help pay down the Hospice Care Center which is a 12-bed facility that helped more than 300 very sick hospice patients this year alone.
The nonprofit agency credits the event’s success to the incredible support from generous sponsors, donors and volunteers like Event Emcee Mario Garcia, according to a recent press release.
“We are so grateful to Mario and all of the Team at Townsquare Media for getting behind the event and promoting it,” said Stefanie Brazile, Director of Development & PR for the agency. “Station Manager Brian Sines put together an amazing Lip Sync team including himself, Wes, Lisa, and Jim. And we loved seeing the Elvis side of Mario--they added so much fun to the event!”
Other Lip Sync competitors included John Ross, his wife Lisa Shoalmire and their daughters. They were also the group that raised the most money for Hospice of Texarkana.
Whitney Long and Athletes from Twin City Cheer; and, last year’s winning team of Jennifer Orgeron and friends.
The group who won a trophy for the Most Audience Involvement was the deejays from Townsquare Media. They performed as the "Not so Fab 4" with a special appearance from Elvis.
The group with the Most Imaginative Performance was Whitney Long’s.
Last year’s winners kicked-off the Lip Sync Battle with a rap that went country and then ended with a flash mob joining them for Frank Sinatra’s rendition of “New York, New York”.

The night also included live music from the Austin Based Texas Unlimited Band, a huge Silent Auction, Raffles and Door Prizes.
“This successful event is possible because of the love and support of so many businesses and individuals who have compassion for the sickest people in our community,” Brazile said. “Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”
