Bowie County Deputies Make 93 Total Arrests in Busy Week

Bowie County Deputies had a busy week to end September and kick off October with 93 total arrests around Texarkana and the surrounding area. Sheriff Jeff Neal reports that BCSO deputies arrested 31, while other law enforcement agencies brought in an additional 62.

Bowie County, Texas Crime Summary

Assaults and Family Violence

Deputies investigated eight assault-related cases, including incidents of family violence, assault on a public servant, and assault of hospital personnel. Two juvenile suspects were taken into custody in separate cases.

Warrants and Arrests

A significant number of warrant services were conducted, resulting in 24 arrests for offenses such as probation violations, parole violations, and holds for other agencies. Charges ranged from possession of controlled substances and unauthorized use of a vehicle to aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Thefts and Property Crimes

There were seven thefts and property crimes reported, including the theft of U.S. currency, a trailer, a boom lift, and a firearm. Deputies also handled several cases of criminal mischief and trespassing.

Animal-Related Incidents and Harassment

The Sheriff’s Office received two dog bite reports and investigated two harassment complaints in rural parts of the county.

Other Incidents

Deputies responded to three residential fires, one death investigation, and an accidental shooting in the DeKalb area.
