Mario’s Weekend Movie Roundup for July 12

Two new movies are n theaters this weekend. It's kind of ironic that we may get the some effects of a tropical storm this weekend when one of the movies is based on a Category 5 hurricane.

Crawl (R)

Kaya Scodelario is a woman who gets trapped in a flooded house in Florida during a raging Category 5 hurricane. When she tries to help her father evacuate they get attacked by a gigantic alligator. Lots of action and thrills in this movie. If you like the movie "Jaws" you'll probably like this one.

Stuber (R)

Get ready for lots of action, adventure, and laughs when a detective played by Dave Baustista has Lasik surgery he can't see good enough to drive so hails an Uber driver played by Kumail Nanjiani. The driver winds up getting deputized and the two go on a mission to find out who killed his partner. Miira Sorvino plays their boss and Karen Gillian plays his murdered partner.

My pick for this weekend, "Crawl." So, grab the popcorn and I'll see you at the movies.
