
Game-Changing Partnership: Maxell Invests in A&M-Texarkana Engineering
Here's some big news for Texas A&M-Texarkana and its electrical engineering program. The university has teamed up with Maxell, Ltd. The financial contribution the company has made with this partnership means more opportunities for students in the engineering program.
This new partnership, which became official on Wednesday, June 18, will directly benefit the university locally and the students studying electrical engineering. The electrical engineering degree will also have a new name, Maxell, LTD. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. This is now the first degree named in the Texas A&M University System.
According to a press release, this agreement with Maxell, Ltd. will allow for 'groundbreaking' research in battery development, mobile and automotive tech and lens technology and more. These projects will be in line with Maxell's interests, like improving solid-state batteries, boosting durability and heat resistance, also they are also interested in the development of futuristic displays and smart tech. This partnership not only benefits our area in Texarkana, but is a major opportunity for the students and their future.

University President Dr. Ross Alexander said,
For more than 60 years Maxell has been at the cutting edge of the technology that has helped change the world. By working hand in hand with engineers and developers from Maxell, our students will be at the very forefront of developing the technology that will power the world going forward.
And on top of all this, the Maxell employees and affiliates will also get tuition discounts and a First Flight Scholarship for new students taking at least six hours.
