National Potato Day is here! It’s impossible to go through a drive-thru without ordering hot, delicious fries, only to find yourself licking the salt off your fingers as you search for more fries nestled in the bottom of the bag. Go ahead and admit it, we've all this before including myself.

The website Takespruce recently did some hard-hitting research to settle the debate about which fast-food fries are the most popular among Americans. They looked at Google Trends search results to analyze the popularity of 24 different fast-food chains’ fries and also looked into the search results around different types of fries, like curly, waffle, or even chili cheese.

Let's take a look at the four-state area. The Fry-ndings might surprise you!

Popeyes - Louisiana

Oklahoma - Mcdonald's

The findings also found the Most Popular Fry Style in toppings, shape, and seasoning was the waffle fries which was pretty much unanimous throughout the entire south. However, in the overall findings, McDonald’s fries rank supreme in most U.S. states.
