Texarkana’s Mrs. Roper Romp Makes ‘Good Morning America’
Last Saturday, March 28, the third annual Mrs. Roper Romp took place in Texarkana at the downtown Post Office, and it made national news.
What Is a Mrs. Roper Romp?
The annual Mrs. Roper Romp is celebrated across the county. It's a fun way to celebrate the iconic 70s TV comedy, Three's Company. Most people dress like Mrs. Roper. If you don't know who she was, she was the landlord's wife in the show.

The Iconic Character Behind the Look
The beloved character, Mrs Roper, was played by actress Audra Lindley. Mrs. Roper was known for her sense of outrageous style and would wear colorful Kaftans, big loud costume jewelry and a big orange wig, and that is the costume everyone wears at a Roper Romp.

At the Roper Romp this year, everyone was invited to be a part of the event but didn't necessarily have to dress as Mrs. Roper. People were encouraged to dress as other characters from the show, but how can you not dress as Mrs. Roper for a Roper Romp?
Supporting a Great Local Cause
The event went to a great cause this year, with money raised going to Fix TXK, a non-profit group that helps people who qualify for the funds to spay and neuter rescue dogs.
