National Peanut Butter Day Jan. 24
This Thursday, Jan. 24, America will be celebrating National Peanut Butter Day. I mean peanut butter, seems like it's been around since the dawn of day. To be exact, it was first patented in 1884 and that's long enough.
As a kid my mother packed many peanut butter sandwiches on my way to school. Elvis loved fried peanut butter banana sandwiches, thank you, thank you, thank you very much.
Check out this actual commercial followed up by how you can make the world famous sandwich.
Did you know for the longest there's always been a debate on what kind of peanut butter we like the most as Americans.
Well, researchers at the website NationalToday.com has finally setteled the great debate finding that 69 percent prefer smooth peanut butter, while only 31 percent prefer crunchy. Another classic debate? 42 percent prefer Jif, while half as many 23 percent like Skippy instead.
Hey what about Peter Pan? Peter Pan came in at 16.8 percent followed by Smucker's at a distant 5.2 percent. The survey also found that men were more likely to choose chunky peanut butter 35 percent of the time as opposed to women at 28 percent.
So load up on peanut butter this Thursday and help celebrate a national American pastime!
