As Jeff Long continues his search for the next coach of the Razorbacks, new names keep popping up of coaches rumored to either be "in talks" with the UA or having been contacted. Here's the latest.

Phillip Fulmer, the former Tennessee Volunteer coach, is reported to have been contacted by the UA according to a former UT Assistant. Fulmer denies there has been any contact. I highly doubt this one. Phil is in his 60's and would probably make a great interim coach to hold the team together through the upcoming season, but I don't see the UA considering him as a long-term hire.

Channel 5 in Fort Smith reported last night that former Southern Cal and current Seattle Seahawk Coach Pete Carroll has been contacted by the UA but turned them down. Yesterday Carroll tweeted "I still love the Arkansas fight song... But Mooch is the man... Go Razorbacks!" I sincerely doubt Jeff Long actually offered Pete Carroll a job (he's pulling down 7mil a year in Seattle and is also the General Manager), but you never know.

"Mooch" is referring to Steve Mariucci who has expressed interest in the job, but says he has not been contacted by the Razorbacks.

So many rumors floating around right now it's hard to keep up. Just read another report saying Jeff Long has made the decision to stick with an interim through the 2012 season.  Who knows what to believe. I'm still hoping for John Gruden though.

Guess we'll all just have to follow Long's advice that he posted yesterday on Twitter.

Hog Fans, please remain calm and please do not believe rumors. But do come out to the the spring game and support our young men!!

Good advice Jeff. Hope we have a GREAT crowd Saturday afternoon for the Spring Game. It starts at 2:00 PM. I won't be able to make it, but if you're going yell extra loud for me!

GO HOGS!
