
These 4 Arkansas Counties Grew The Most in 2023
Arkansas is becoming a great state to move to for a lot of people. And what's not to love about Arkansas? Arkansas has the best of both worlds from beautiful lakes and the Ozark Mountains to beautiful resort towns and cosmopolitan areas.
According to the latest estimates from the U.S Census Bureau reports for population growth from July 2022 to July 2023, over half of Arkansas' 75 counties grew in population last year to be exact 39 counties saw an increase. But, 36 counties lost residents.
3 Arkansas Counties That Grew in Population The Most
The three counties that saw the biggest jump in population were all in Northwest Arkansas. Those counties were:
Benton County
Benton County had the biggest jump with a growth of 2.7% of 8,191 new residents.
Washington County
Washington County came in with 1.9% growth and 4,867 new residents.
Faulkner County
Faulkner County came in with the third largest growth also at 1.9% growth equaling 2,386 new residents.
Saline County
Saline County at fourth place had a 1.7% growth with a population jump of 2,159 new residents.
Rounding out the top ten counties that had nice growth last year in Arkansas were Sebastian, Craighead, Garland, White and Lonoke.
Arkansas Counties That Had The Largest Decline in Population
Counties that saw the biggest were mainly in the northeastern and southern counties of the state. Chicot, Desha, Phillips, Lee, and Woodruff saw the largest decline in population.
