It's really sad to see when a city's downtown area becomes so bad that it becomes abandoned such is the case of the downtown area of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

WARNING: Under no circumstances should you enter this property. By doing so you risk bodily harm and/or prosecution for trespassing on private property.

What used to be a vibrant downtown area years ago is nothing more than a shell of its former self in many areas.  If you have been watching the HBO show, 'The Last of Us," it pretty much likes like some of the scenes could have been filmed here.

Most Dangerous City

Unfortunately, for several years Pine Bluff has been named one of the most dangerous and worst cities to live in America due to its high crime rate, homicide, low-paying jobs, and crumbling infrastructure as you are about to see in the video below.

I wonder if the man who built the Perot Theatre in Texarkana built this theatre in Pine Bluff because it looks eerily similar.

Downtown Improvements

The good news is that there have been some major improvements to the downtown area such as new sidewalks, streets, and a few building renovations however, there is still a whole lot to be done to bring this city back to life. It remains to be seen if it ever makes it back all the way but you have to give the city credit for working on the revitalization of this once-vibrant community. You can see from the video that the potential is there to really make it a nice downtown area.
