SAU Martin Luther King Jr. Day Memorial March and Ceremony

The Southern Arkansas University 25th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Memorial March and Ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.

The march will begin at the former Miller’s Cafeteria on Vine Street at 5PM and proceed along University Street to the SAU Reynolds Center. The Memorial Program will begin around 5:30PM in Foundation Hall.

The community is encouraged to participate in the march and attend the ceremony. For more information, contact the Office of Multicultural Services at 870-235-4046.

Dr. Trey Berry, president of SAU, will deliver the welcome and a Spoken Word presentation will be delivered by Trey Miguel Johnson. The audience will sing “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Artistic movement will be provided by the Concrete Rose Dance Company of Magnolia, and Genesis Ministry Choir will deliver an inspirational performance.

Cledis Stuart, Associate Dean of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity at SAU, will give the keynote address. Dinner will follow in Grand Hall.
