Watch It: Have You Seen The Movie Ozark Sharks Set In Arkansas?
This is the time of the month when you hear a lot in the news about shark attacks and recently there have been quite a few sightings of sharks.
Shark Week
For a minute you almost believe this is a setup to promote Shark Week on the Discovery channel going on the week of July 7 hosted by John Cena. But we know that's not true, any kind of shark attack is never good no matter what the outcome.
Ever since the iconic movie "Jaws" thousands of movies have been released they always seem to have a shark or sharks stalking people down as prey. Some movies are pretty good while others are pretty cheesy and unrealistic for example, the Sharknado series of movies. They may be considered B-grade type movies but people still watch them for the entertainment or an occasional laugh.
Well, here's one for your bucket list, Ozark Sharks a story set in Arkansas but filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana in 2015.
Ozark Sharks
According to IMDB, a family takes a vacation to a lake in the Ozarks Mountains, and their world is turned upside down when a group of bull sharks somehow find themselves in the freshwater lake and go on a furious rampage in the seemingly small town during a big fireworks festival. The movie stars include Allisyn Snyder, Dave Davis, and, Michael Papajohn, not the pizza guy.
Main Storyline
The campy story is about a group of teenagers who decide to take a trip to the Ozarks to swim in one of the lakes there only to run into a survivalist known as the Ozarker who has a dislike for people and tourists. There's a non-responsible hippie and a nerd who turns out to be a shark killer when things get out of control. The sharks invade the Arkansas lake by swimming there from the ocean to give birth to their offspring. The non-aggressive sharks become agitated and aggressive after a fireworks display and underwater explosions turn the sharks into killers.
The Director
Missy Talley directed another SyFy shark movie, Zombie Sharks 2015.
This movie is described as fun, thrilling, and humorous to watch. Ozark Sharks may not be for everyone but I bet you the next time you go swimming at a lake in Arkansas and feel something brush up against your leg, you'll be getting out quick.
You can watch Ozark Sharks streaming on Prime Video, YouTube movies, or Tubi.
