Second Special Youth Modern Gun Deer Hunt
The last youth hunt occurred in November 2024, and, for those wishing to participate in hunting this weekend, all youth must be ages 6-15 and get a free customer ID number from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. If hunters have not completed a hunter's course they must be supervised by an adult 21 or older.
Mentors are not allowed to hunt during the event and dogs are prohibited. During this event, all zone bag limits apply. The only exception is that bow hunters can hunt but must wear hunter orange or chartreuse-colored vests. Some restrictions could apply in Wildlife Management Areas, it's best to check on local regulations before hunting.
According to Southwest Radio, Deer season officially closes with the end of archery on February 28.
