Corporal Kristi Bennett with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has confirmed that Windstream landlines have been fully restored and 911 is now functioning properly.

Captain Doug Avery Central Records and Communications(CRC) of Texarkana along with the Texarkana Arkanasas Police Department wants to notify the general public that Windstream landlines are experiencing an outage in Bowie County as well as in Miller County and are unable to reach 911 today (Jan. 30). The outage occurred around 10:40AM this morning.

Although I was young and on the opposite side of the country, I will never forget that day.

Last Friday marked the anniversary of that tragic day fourteen years ago, a day that will always be known as 9/11. My sister Lynn emailed me this article she found and it brought tears to my eyes. Today marks the 12th anniversary of 9/11. Twelve years ago on this very date in 2001, the most horrific tragedy in American history occurred. It changed our lives forever, the way we see the world and the way we are as Americans.
