Head-on accidents caused by vehicles crossing the median on divided highway systems can be some of the deadliest.  A new safety cable system being installed in the median between opposing lanes of traffic hopes to drastically reduce the likelihood of these type accidents.

Motorists who normally travel FM 989 (Kings Highway) between US 67 (West 7th Street) and US 59 (South Lake Drive) will need to find an alternate route on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The Texas Department of Transportation will host an open house public meeting Thursday, July 18, to present alternatives for proposed improvements to US 82 (New Boston Road) and Farm to Market Road 989 (Kings Highway) in Nash. The meeting will be held at the Nash Elementary School at 100 East Burton Street in Nash beginning at 5:30PM.
