Guard railings along several local highways will be upgraded in coming months according to plans approved in April by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

According to a press release, “We will be replacing and upgrading the guard railing along US 67 in Bowie, Cass and Morris Counties, and along sections of FM 130 and FM 1841 in Cass County,” said Paul Wong, Area Engineer for the TxDOT office in Texarkana.

CMD Holdings of New Boston, TX, was awarded the contract for the projects with a bid of $4.5 million.

Work on the project should begin in July and take about 15 months to complete, Wong said.
