Tanker Truck Leak Forces School to Close

An accident involving a gasoline tanker truck has forced officials with the Liberty-Eylau School District to cancel classes for today at the Rock School, which houses Kindergarten and 1st Grade Classes. The rest of the school district is open today.

Meanwhile Highway 59 between Kings Highway and FM 2516 is shutdown this morning to clean up the mess. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say a utility pole was hit bringing down live wires and spilling gasoline. No word on any injury to the driver. Wet roadways may have played a part in the accident this morning that occured around 5:20 am.
