The Texarkana Arkansas School District Business Industry Partnership is a collaboration between TASD, the Chamber of Commerce, and local business.

According to a release from the school district, a strong workforce creates a healthy economy, and educating students about the practical application of their skills after they graduate is the focus of the partnership. By focusing on three pillars, the group seeks to build strong and sustainable career pathways for graduates.

  • Business-led: Local industries identify entry-level skills and employability qualities, and collaborate on programs that prepare students for job opportunities.
  • Curriculum alignment: The Texarkana Arkansas School District works to coordinate relevant and rigorous learning pathways to address the needs.
  • Tracking effectiveness: Industry feedback and other data are assessed to determine pathways that lead to successful careers and income that build a thriving community.

During the industry meeting, Superintendent Dr. Becky Kesler stated that preparing students for life after high school is vital, and developing true partnerships with business and industry leaders is essential to the success of students and the community. “We are committed to this partnership and will work to ensure that needs are met for Texarkana’s future workforce – our students.”
