Some interesting things are happening at the Texarkana Arkansas School District later this week.

Thursday at 6:00PM, at the Arkansas High School Red Wall, TASD will hold An Evening with the Stars: Jack Hardy Volunteer Reception. Each year, TASD celebrates the countless hours of volunteerism that takes place in our classrooms and across the district.

The event is named in honor of longtime volunteer Jack Hardy, who in spite of his physical handicaps, could be seen riding his bicycle around town selling Razorback Booster Club memberships. He always sold more than anyone else. It became obvious over time that if you wanted to buy a membership Jack Hardy was the man to contact.

Saturday, the North Heights Junior High Fishing Club will host their Annual Kids Fish Texarkana event. This FREE family-friendly event is for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Students from school districts in Texarkana and the surrounding area are invited to participate. Grab your fishing gear and make plans to have a fun-filled weekend.
