A new school year is just around the corner and the Texarkana Arkansas School District has just announced there will be new school hours begining this coming school year.

Why the Change? Benefits for Students and Families in Texarkana Arkansas

According to a press release, the change is to help students and families in a few different ways in Texarkana, Arkansas.

1. They feel this will reduce tardiness at the elementry school level with a more consistent instructional time

2. Provide more class time at the high school level for students in athletics and band where they won't have to miss the last class of the day when traveling on game days.

3. Help parents so older students can help with picking up younger siblings.

New Bell Schedule Details: When Classes Start and End

Starting for this next school year the bell schedule will be,

College Hill Pre-K Center 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM

Elementry Schools 8:20 AM - 3:50 PM

Middle Schools -  7:55 AM - 3:10 PM

High School - 7:55 AM - 3:10 PM

College Hill Pre-K Center - 7:20 AM

Elementry Schools - 7:30 AM

Middle Schools and High School - 7 AM

New 'Bell to Bell No Cell' Policy Explained

This year is also the first year where of the Bell to Bell No Cell law will go into effect in  Arkansas schools. No cell phones will be allowed, along with smart watches, bluetooth earbuds or headphone, portable gaming consoles, digital media players or video and recording devices.
