TexAmericas New Tuition Partnership With Texas A&M Texarkana
TexAmericas Center (TAC) in Texarkana made a big announcement that will benefit the employees of their tenants. They have teamed up with Texas A&M University-Texarkana to offer those employees discounted tuition for classes at the university.
TexAmericas is one of the largest mixed-use industrial parks in the United States and that means there are a lot of people that can benefit from this partnership.
The tuition discount will be for full-time employees and it can go towards both degree and non-degree programs. The partnership was made official on Friday, December 8 on the campus of Texas A&M-Texarkana as they announced TexAmericas Center’s “Come Home to Texarkana” and “Texarkana Advantage” programs.
A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander said in a press release,
We are excited to forge this partnership with TexAmericas Center to allow greater access to an affordably priced, high quality, yet flexible education for all employees at the center’s site. This not only benefits the companies already in our area but highlights for others the university’s commitment to providing educational solutions for the workforces in our region.
The partnership will give a 25 percent tuition discount for eligible employees of TexAmericas Center and those working for businesses, owners and lessors, located on the TexAmericas Center property.
When we say it will benefit a lot of people we aren't kidding. TexAmericans employees 21 full-time employees but add in their tenants' employees. The number goes up to more than 1,300 people who will have the chance to take advantage of this offer.
Eric Voyles the TAC Executive Vice President and Chief Economic Development Officer said,
While federal incentives are available nationwide and Texas incentives are available throughout the state, Texas A&M University- Texarkana has created an incentive only available in the Texarkana region.
Even better is that this goes into effect immediately. This means these benefits can be taken advantage of as early as the Spring 2024 semester beginning next month in January.
