Update: Water Boil Notice Recinded Friday, August 29, 4:20 PM

Earlier,

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the Texarkana, Texas Water Utilities public water system have issued a boil water notice for a portion of the Texarkana area, effective on August 28, 2025.

Boil Water Notice Issued for Portions of Texarkana

This notice has been issued due to low water pressure caused by an ongoing main water repair. Residents living in the affected areas should boil their water before drinking or for other uses such as washing hands and face, or brushing teeth. Children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria. People should take the necessary precautions to remain safe by boiling their water until the problem is fixed and safe to consume.
