Several key neighborhoods in Texarkana, Texas, are now under a mandatory boil water notice effective immediately.

Boil Water Notice Issued for Portion of Texarkana, Texas

Due in part to low water pressure and a temporary lack of water, the  Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required the City of Texarkana Public Water System to notify its customers in the affected areas to boil their water before drinking or cooking.

Affected locations include the following:

  • Summerhill Rd: Between Galleria Oaks Drive and N. Park Rd.
  • Moores Ln: From Summerhill Rd to Galleria Oaks Dr.
  • N. Park Rd: From Bill Rodgers Dr to Summerhill Rd.

Residential and Professional Areas Include the following:

  • Woodmont Crossing
  • Medical Parkway
  • Oak Bend
  • Enclave Circle

Until the boil order is rescinded, residents in the affected areas must boil water to ensure the destruction of harmful bacteria and microbes. All water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, or personal hygiene, such as brushing teeth/washing face, must be treated as well.

Share This Information If You Know Someone Living in the Affected Areas

This is particularly vital for children, seniors, and individuals with weakened immune systems, who are more vulnerable to waterborne bacteria. Residents are encouraged to drink bottled water or water from an outside source until the problem is resolved.

Texarkana Water Utilities asks you to share this information with someone living in the affected area who may not have seen this notice. The boil water notice will remain in effect until the public water system officials notify customers that the water is once again safe to consume.
