Boil Water Notice Issued for Part of Texarkana, Texas
Residents in a portion of Texarkana, Texas, off Lake Dr., are under a boil water notice after a loss of water pressure prompted action by state regulators.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required the City of Texarkana's public water system to notify affected customers to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, washing hands or face, making ice, or other consumption-related purposes.
Areas Affected
The boil water notice applies to customers located:
- South of Phenie Avenue
- North of Caddo Street
- East of Lake Drive
- West of South Lelia Street

What Residents Should Do
To ensure harmful bacteria and other microorganisms are destroyed, officials recommend bringing water to a vigorous rolling boil for at least two minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, or making ice. Water should be allowed to cool before use.
Residents may also choose to use bottled water or another safe source of drinking water until the notice is lifted.
Children, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems are especially vulnerable to potential contaminants and should take extra precautions.
Notice Will Be Lifted After Testing
City officials will notify customers when laboratory testing confirms the water is safe to drink and the boil water notice can be rescinded. A separate notice will be issued when the advisory is no longer in effect.
