Texarkana Man Arrested: Child Sexual Assault Charges Filed

A Texarkana, Texas, man is behind bars following a serious investigation involving a child victim.

The Texarkana, Texas, Police Department posted on its Facebook page that 59-year-old Jimmy Hooper was arrested after an extensive investigation that began on April 15. Detective Tabitha Smith quickly launched the case, leading to Hooper’s arrest just two days later.

Hooper is now facing charges of Child Grooming and six counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Investigators say these alleged offenses took place over the course of two years, from 2023 to 2024.

According to Detective Smith, the case began with the suspect exposing a 10-year-old victim to inappropriate material and later escalated into repeated acts of abuse.

Hooper is currently being held at the Bi-State Jail on a total bond set at $1.45 million.
