Have You Seen Him? Texarkana Police Search for Suspected Drug Dealer

Texarkana Arkansas Police need your help in finding a man who is named in a drug case that the Texas Department of Public Safety was originally investigating.

The Texas DPS special agents have been investing 55-year-old Michael Wayne Thomas who is suspected of allegedly selling a large amount of methamphetamine. They had allegedly bought drugs from him earlier this year in an undercover investigation. They were able to get a warrant for his arrest for delivering a controlled substance, but early last week the found that he had moved his drug operation from Texas to the Regency Motel in Texarkana on the Arkansas side of town.

According to the TAPD press release, he was pulled over for a traffic stop by a Texas Tropper at one point on the outstanding warrant but no drugs were found in his vehicle. Officers did find an active motel key card to the motel in Texarkana Arkansas. This is when the Texas DPS contacted Sgt Tanner Freeman with the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department. Once the TAPD's Criminal Investigation Division stepped in and spotted a woman named Ashley Jones leaving Thomas's room with a bag. Officers arrested Jones and in the bag they found digital scales, a bag with two-thirds of a pound of methamphetamine along with packing materials.

Ashley Jones was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of ecstasy with intent to deliver, plus possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.

The warrants out for Michael Wayne Thomas are the same as Jones's charges. Unfortunately, before they could charge Thomas he posted bail and was released. Police are now actively looking for him with these new warrants.

Michael Wayne Thomas is 55 years old and has brown eyes and is balding. He stands 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds.  It is nice to know that the work of the Texas Department of public Safety and the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department that Michael Wayne Thomas' drug operation has stopped at least for the time being.
