Westbound I-30 Ramp Changes Begin June 1 as Widening Project Progresses
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) wants you to know that if you're traveling westbound on Interstate 30 through Texarkana, you need to be aware of several ramp changes beginning today, Monday, June 1, as construction continues on the I-30 widening project.
TxDOT says the contractor implemented the changes after 9 AM Monday (today) to accommodate ongoing work along the westbound corridor.
The following ramps and exits are now reopened:
- Richmond Road entrance ramp (the ramp just before Richmond Rd.)
- Exit 220B to Richmond Road (the Exit just after Summerhill)
- Exit 219 to University Avenue (the Spaghetti Bowl exit)
The following exit ramps are now closed:
- Exit 222 to Summerhill Road (just past State Line)
- Exit 218 to Kings Highway/FM 989 (just past University)
Talk About "Know Before You Go"
TxDOT reminds motorists that the I-30 frontage road system allows continuous travel without stopping at traffic signals. Drivers can travel eastbound from Kings Highway/FM 989 to U.S. Highway 71/State Line Avenue and westbound from US Highway 71/State Line Avenue to Kings Highway/FM 989 using nothing but frontage roads.
