Residents in Texarkana's Northridge neighborhood will soon notice construction crews as Summit Utilities begins a major natural gas infrastructure improvement project.

Texarkana Utility Work Begins This Week

Starting Wednesday, July 8, Summit Utilities will begin replacing old existing natural gas mains throughout the Northridge neighborhood. The project is expected to take about six months to complete.

To help reduce disruptions, most of the work will be done using directional boring, a construction method that allows crews to install underground utility lines with minimal impact to streets, driveways, sidewalks, and landscaping.

Property Restoration Planned

According to Summit Utilities officials, any areas disturbed during construction will be restored to the same or better condition once the work is finished.
