
Weekend Violence: Texarkana Police Investigate Two Separate Shootings
Texarkana, Texas police are asking for your help as they investigate two separate shootings that happened over the weekend. Both victims were taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital.
Saturday Night Shooting on Robison Place in Texarkana
The TTPD posted on their Facebook page that the first shooting occurred around 11:15 Saturday night at a home in the 300 block of Robison Place in Texarkana. Police say a 61-year-old man was shot multiple times after opening the door and allowing two men into his apartment.

After the shooting, the suspects reportedly took a small safe and fled the scene. The victim was transported to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital. The incident remains under investigation.
Sunday Morning Shooting on Lester Street in Texarkana
The second shooting happened around 8:30 Sunday morning outside a home in the 3000 block of Lester Street in Texarkana. Officers found a 43-year-old man in the driveway with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Officers were unable to find a pulse and immediately began CPR while working to control the bleeding until EMS arrived. The victim was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital.
Police arrested 65-year-old Calvin Young, identified as the victim’s father, at the scene. He was booked into the Bi-State Jail on a charge of Aggravated Assault Involving Serious Bodily Injury. At this time, investigators have not released what led up to the shooting.
