The Texarkana Texas Police Department is warning drivers if they see a barricade across a closed road do not get out of their car to move it so they can continue down the road.

Recently, the TTPD are having problems with people driving through the construction work zone on North Park Road under the I-30 overpass.  According to the TTPD Facebook page, this section of the road is currently closed while construction continues on the new bridge section overhead as part of the I-30 widening project and is expected to be closed for about a year. It’s a very active construction zone, and an unexpected vehicle driving through at the wrong time can lead to catastrophic results not to mention injury to workers.

The barricades are placed there for a reason, your safety and the safety of the workers in that area. Drivers should take Stateline Avenue or Summerhill Road to get where they are going. If the problem continues and you get caught moving a barricade to drive through the closed work zone you could wind up with a $250 fine.
