Texarkana Resident to be Contestant on New Cooking Show

Live Well Network, one of the fastest growing digital television networks operated by ABC Owned Television Stations Group, will premiere a special three-episode cook-off series called Home Chef Showdown this summer and I'm happy to say local Texarkana, Arkansas resident will be on the show.The hometown girl is Shayla White who will be going up against three other home chefs competing for the best appetizer, grilled meats and dessert. Shayla and her competitors are to be judged by esteemed culinary personalities Duff Goldman (Ace of Cakes) and Margo True (Food Editor of Sunset Magazine). In each episode, the home chefs compete both for the title of winner of their food category, as well as a $1,000 gift card to Cost Plus World Market. Shayla is expected to be judged in the summer dessert category.

Watch the drama unfold and tension soar as competitors are forced to work with tough ingredients and only one heat source: a grill! A charred mess forces one contestant to start over with only minutes left on the clock, while another watches in horror as her meal goes up in flames. Chef Ryan Scott creates challenges that put each of these home chefs to the test, but will leave viewers with great inspiration for summer meals.

The three-episode special series premieres on the Live Well Network Sunday, June 22 at 8PM/7c, and continues on Monday, June 23 at 8:30pm/7:30c, and Tuesday, June 24 at 8:30pm/7:30c. The series will continue to run throughout the summer.
