Texarkana Retail Store Closing Everything Must Go
This has been a rough year for brick-and-mortar stores across the United States another Texarkana retail store is closing.
Store Closing
The retail chain Burkes's Outlet located in the Texarkana Pavilion shopping center is going out of business and everything must go. As you can see quite a bit of merchandise is already gone.
The store specializes in clothing, shoes, bedding, sports apparel, seasonal items, and home decor. Store employees received the bad news last week and the store will close for good sometime in September or until everything is gone.
So, far there have been no markdowns from any merchandise yet but store employees say they should begin marking items down at the end of August.
I tried to find information to see if this is happening nationwide but could not find anything about it or the Texarkana store closing.
Burke's is owned by Beall's and if you shopped there you probably noticed they were using Beall's bags because they were supposed to transition to Beall's at some point from what I was told toward the end of last year. Apparently, the Texarkana store has fallen on hard times and that's unfortunate it may very well have been an underperforming store, just my guess.
Sources tell me they are building a new store in El Dorado, Arkansas, and one in Tyler, Texas. Burke's a Florida-based company is nationally recognized with over 400 stores nationwide. The Texarkana store opened in April 2017. The stores are being renamed and rebranded to Beall's Outlet, according to their Facebook page.
